Deadline: September 31, 2018  – 32nd annual Materials: Hard + Soft International Contemporary Craft Competition and Exhibition.

Juror: Janet McCall, Executive Director of the Society for Contemporary Craft, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Presented by the Greater Denton Arts Council and recognized as one of the premier fine crafts exhibitions in the United States, initiated in 1987 by Georgia Leach Gough. This exhibition will celebrate the field of contemporary craft, the creativity, and innovations of artists who continue to push media’s boundaries. Juror Awards in the amounts of $1,000, $750, $500, and $250 to be determined by the juror and announced at the opening reception on February 1, 2019. Small Tapestry International 6: Beyond the Edge

Deadline: October 15, 2018  Juror: Jane Kidd. ATA invites all tapestry artists to submit works to Small Tapestry International 6: Beyond the Edge. Artists are encouraged to explore the conceptual, technical and metaphorical implications of the theme as they design their submissions. We invite entries not only from artists who work within more traditional definitions of tapestry, but also those artists whose work expands upon the core principles of the medium as it explores new techniques and processes. The size of the tapestry may not exceed a total of 100 square inches (625 square cm) and cannot exceed 20 inches (50 cm) in any one dimension.
